Enrollment Criteria
  • To ensure inclusion into the 2021-2022 School Year SLPS Magnet and Choice Schools Placement Lottery, applications must be submitted by Pool A in November.
  • Applications submitted after the Pool B submission deadline will be processed and considered for placement on a first-come-first-served basis, after all, Pool A and Pool B Lottery eligible applicants have been placed.
  • Information sent to applicants stating a child is "Lottery Eligible" and/or "Placement Eligible" does not indicate a seat to the requested school has been offered, or that an applicant has been accepted to attend the requested school.
  • "Notes To Parent" dashboard and/or email information sent stating a student has been "Accepted" or "Welcoming" the student to the school is not valid until an acceptance notice is sent via SLPS Magnet and Choice Schools Application website automated email system. This occurs due to high school staff determining Placement Eligibility status declaring an applicant "accepted" instead of "eligible" without knowledge of requested schools rank preference or acceptance to another school requested by the applicant.
  • SLPS Gifted Programs and all Magnet and Choice High Schools have entrance criteria to determine eligibility prior to enrollment into the schools. Prior to determination of this eligibility, your child may be accepted PENDING DETERMINATION OF ELIGIBILITY in the Pool A or Pool B Placement Lottery.
  • Acceptance offered to a school requested removes your child from consideration for any other school choice you may have requested. Claiming or Declining the seat offered to a school will not undo your child no longer being considered for any other school you may have requested.
