Requirements / Recommended Tests
National achievement test scores or  End of Course Examinations 50% or higher in both Communications Arts and Mathematics for Middle School.
Enrollment Criteria
  • SLPS Magnet and Choice Schools Acceptance
  • Current proof of residency, Parenting plan/court order or proof of guardianship (if applicable), parent/guardian photo ID
  • Child's birth certificate, Immunization/physical/shot records
  • Copy of the most recent report card. Minimum of Cs in communication arts, science, math, social studies.
  • No out of school or in school suspensions one year prior to admission and 90% or higher attendance rate in the year prior to applying to McKinley.
  • One teacher and one administrator letters of recommendation (Waved for McKinley CJA 8th to McKinley CLA 9th students) and Administrative Admissions Interview (waived for McKinley 8th Grade Students wishing Admission)
